Quannah Chasinghorse is a model and First Nations activist whose ancestry is Hän Gwich’in and Oglala Lakota. She served up the purest tribute to American fashion possible at the Met Gala, by paying homage to Indigenous people and delivering one of the most stunning looks of the night.

While the turquoise and silver gown is stunning, it’s the jewelry, made by Antelope Women Designs’ Lenise Omeaso that makes the look. Quannah told the press that the jewelry used elements such as porcupine quills and moose hide to create something true, accurate, and in respectful homage. Like Riz Ahmed’s salute to immigrant laborers of color, this is a spectacular and poignant way to interpret the night’s theme and the dress code. We ADORE the sparkly silver platform sandals peeking out from the bottom.
