Cannes Film Festival 2022: ELVIS Photocall Red Carpet

PinElvis is the hottest topic at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time in well over half a century because all anyone seems to be talking about is the premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis last night. The Cast (+ Priscilla), but their daytime clothes on for the photo call today.

We think it’s borderline gimmicky, but he’s done a pretty good job of doing a sort of Elvis-but-not-really promo style. It skirts up to the line of cosplay, but it hasn’t been close to being literal. As we noted earlier, there appears to be a swing back toward rockabilly-inspired style among the male celebrity set, so that works out very well for him, timing-wise.

We feel like the outfit could’ve used a belt or a jacket, but it’s a fun, bold, and practical sort of look. It really works for her, although we don’t think the bow tie was needed.
