This week’s PSO couldn’t be more straightforward and simple; just a discussion about eleven performances in current films and TV shows that we’re currently living for. We flipped on the mics and took turns bouncing back and forth in our praise of Michelle Pfeiffer in The First Lady, Elle Fanning in The Girl from Plainville, Zoe Kravitz in Kimi, Greta Lee in season 2 of Russian Doll, Janelle James in Abbott Elementary, Oscar Isaac in Moon Knight and several others. It’s a light, chatty, non-spoiler celebration of all the things we’re enjoying at the moment and think you’d enjoy too, as well as a rambling discussion on what makes a good supporting performance and how these actors have distinguished themselves by rising above their material in many ways.
Times are shitty and we can all use a light, breezy celebration of things that are GOOD, right? PLUS: Tom’s cheesecake drama and how he hopes to avoid it this weekend! What could be more wholesome, we ask you?
Thank you for listening, darlings!
