We won’t do it. We can’t. After your first decade of red carpet commentary, you find there are certain go-tos that you’d do anything to avoid, simply because you and a million other people have made the same joke countless times before: the Carol Burnett window joke, the sister-wife/Laura Ingalls reference, the Alaïa line from Clueless, the “florals for spring” or “hideous skirt convention” lines from The Devil Wears Prada, and finally, the king of them all…
The “wearing a skinned Muppet” joke. Nope. We won’t do it. We know when we’re being punked. Good one, Miuccia and Daniel. You almost got us.
The funny thing is, that one highly focus-pulling element aside, it’s a great look for him. We wish that Cookie Monster teal had been rendered in some other way, because the colors look great on him.
