And now for a sentence we know we’ve never written before. In fact, we didn’t think we’d ever have the chance to write it. The sentence in question?

A hearty and sincere “Well done on your style choices, Mandy Moore!”

What can we say? We’ve covered her a long time and her track record doesn’t even rise to the level of “dicey.” The last time we covered her solo, we referred to the dress design as “Satanic;” the time before that, we threw up our hands and wrote “GOOD LORD WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, WOMAN?” Just to give you some idea of where we’re coming from. We’re not sure why (given the rather low difficulty setting she’s working under) but the lady has always had problems with public style.

This is a can’t-go-wrong dress. The colors are gorgeously vibrant and photogenic and it’s hard to get the fit or the accessorizing wrong. Personally, we think a floor-length knit dress calls for a closed toe shoe or a boot rather than sandals, but that’s a minor quibble. She looks great.

True to form, she wore something far less interesting for the taping:

Not a disaster by any means, but a huge letdown.
