We can tell you from experience that the one thing we miss most when red carpets are snatched from us by a wandering pandemic is the opportunity to put celebrity outfits up to an IN or OUT vote. It just feels weird and maybe a little crass to take pictures from someone’s social media account and demand that people vote on what they’re wearing, even if they are wearing high-end borrowed luxury items in order to promote themselves. Anyway, our point is that we don’t quite know what to think of this look from neo-Maria Rachel Zegler as she did another round of awards-season press for West Side Story:

At first glance, we thought it was cute and sharp. But the more we look at it, the more we think the top tucked into the pants isn’t working for either the top or the pants. We’re a bit surprised to say this, but we’d rather she’d ditch the top for some sort of blouse or cropped sweater to go with those pants — as opposed to suggesting she get rid of the pants and keep the top. You’d think we’d be more into the sparkly piece, but we don’t love the design of it, tucked or untucked. Sleeveless turtlenecks are just weird.
Hey, how about that? Turns out, we do know what to think of this.
