Rachel Zegler got to drive her haters just a little crazier by picking up an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, for her work in “Evita.” Congratulations to her, but we’re gonna be shallow sorts, as we are prone to being, and task you with rating her dress for the occasion. It’s a lot, as you can probably tell already.

We’re suckers for a black gown with gold accessories, so we’re inclined to love this at first glance. We like but don’t love the chains. There’s no denying that they make the look, because the dress would be totally generic without them, but as a design element, it feels overwrought and overdone to us. You could have done this with about a third of the chains and still have a dramatic effect. We’re not really sure whether we consider the chains a dealbreaker or not, which is why we’re tossing this one out to y’all. Let’s hear. Are they too heavy? Too tacky? Too prominent? One thing’s for sure: this isn’t a dress for sneaking up on anyone.
