The way we see it, there are two ways to respond to this award being bestowed upon Kim Kardashian – or at least, there are two ways that won’t drive you crazy. The first way is to acknowledge that, like it or not, she has had an enormous influence on trends and wields considerable power over the fashion-buying demographic. There are, in fact, very few Americans who have the kind of influence she has in the world of fashion right now and even fewer entrepreneurs operating at her level in this arena. The other way to look at it is to realize that the People’s Choice Awards have absolutely no real merit as a gauge of talent. In other words, either she’s earned this award or this award means nothing. The choice is yours. That’s why they’re called the People’s Choice Awards. (not really)

In other news, we kinda love this whole look. She likes to play with anonymity and full body coverage quite a bit lately and there are a million different ways to interpret that in light of her overwhelming fame and body-based image craft. The shades and the earrings take it to a whole different place, part sci-fi, part old-school modesty, part Catwoman.
