Swan Song co-stars Mahershala Ali and Awkwafina stepped out onto the red carpet for the film’s premiere at AFI Fest and the pictures caused us to blurt out “What a cute couple they make! In a … y’know, professional, red carpet sort of way.”

But let’s face it, we just meant their outfits are cute and look good together.

It’s a simple dress with just a little bit of fuss to it (to our shock, we like what the tricky hem brings to it). She’s well suited to it and it’ll always take a good picture, so as a base, it’s a great start to an outfit. She didn’t get too goofy with the accessories; simple shapes and complementary or tone-on-tone colors. The result is fun and sort of breezy-fresh. She’s not pushing any envelopes or reinventing any wheels, but it’s a cute look. Can’t hate.

Ditto. And then some. LOVE the textile of that suit, the way it plays like a pinstripe motif but gets more complex the closer you get to it. The colors look great on him and we love both the matchy blue shoes and the pop of contrast in the pocket square. Probably one of the best double-breasted suits we’ve seen on a red carpet in years. The cut is a little snug on him, but it doesn’t detract too much.

That looks a little intense and depressing for the holidays, but it’s getting some fairly good reviews.
