“Eternals” London Premiere Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on October 28, 2021

We gave Angelina Jolie a little spotlight time because she’s a pro at snagging that sort of thing for herself, but (most of) the rest of the Eternals cast hit the London premiere red carpet in their best finery and they deserve our loving judgment just as much.

Barry Keoghan

We like some of the ideas here, but it’s not coming together all that great. We don’t think the shirt coordinates well with the suit and stylistically, it doesn’t make much sense with the snakeskin loafers, which are kind of fabulous. We like the color on him, but he needs to be coached on standing and presenting because he’s making the suit look a bit of a mess.

Gemma Chan in Zuhair Murad Couture

We’re really digging the whole space nun thing she’s been doing through this promo tour. This is gorgeous on her and believe it or not, we think the sheer skirt/thigh highs combination is utterly fabulous. This is the kind of wildness you usually expect from pop stars on the red carpet, not actresses.

Kit Harrington in Fendi

We do love the subtle blue in the suit. We wish he’d opted for a blue shirt to pick it up more.

Kumail Nanjiani in Grayscale (Suit) and Todd Snyder (Shirt)

Oooh, you had us until the footwear, Kumail. That’s a gorgeous suit in a gorgeous color, though. Love the slightly unexpected style of shirt with it.

Lauren Ridloff in Tom Ford

It’s a bit overdesigned – that curlicue motif is a dealbreaker for us – but we really like the top third. The collar and sleeves look great on her and we wish the rest of the gown followed more intuitively from there instead of going off on a bit of a tangent. Love her hair, though.

Richard Madden in Prada

It takes real work to make a man this gorgeous look this dull.

Salma Hayek in Saint Laurent

We have no doubt this is expensive as hell, but the design is stale and the fit is off just enough that it comes off looking cheap to us. The combination of the choker strap and puffy shoulder is just unresolvable.
