Miss Jessica’s having herself a week. One thing we can tell you now, if we wind up doing a retrospective on all of her awards track looks leading up to the Oscars, it will be all over the map, stylistically speaking. Just last week she was on a jumpsuit tear and now she’s bouncing around from cute day dresses to killer suits to sultry cutout gowns, all in the space of about 24 hours. Respect for a hard-working one.
ZUHAIR MURAD
We think we might like the idea of this dress more than the actual dress. It has a sort of appealing retro quality to it, but the shape is akin to an oversized t-short and those pockets are awkwardly placed. It almost looks like the fabric can’t handle the weight of the trim.
ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
Can’t argue with any of that. She looks fantastic here.
MIU MIU
Oh, now we get it. She’s on a “heavy blingy trim” sort of kick at the moment. Well fine. Go get your sparkle on, girl. We just think these sorts of trims can look too heavy for the garment and give it a bit of a home-sewn feel to it. She looks great in black and we love the neckline, but the rest of the gown looks overworked to us.
