Well, we can at least claim that our assessment of Amanda Seyfried’s pre-Oscars fashion was mostly on the mark in terms of predicting what she’d wear for the big night – unlike SOME nominees whose names we won’t mention. The only color Amanda’s worn throughout awards season is variations on red and her main formal style leaned heavily on classic Hollywood Glam. She took those two preferences and turned the dials WAY up:
We really love this. The overall silhouette and the shape of the skirt lend what could have been a fairly basic gown some real visual impact and interest. We don’t normally love plunging necklines but the proportions are pretty good here so it works for us. The only iffy part for us are the odd ruffles on the bustline, but the more we look at them, the less they bother us. Hair, makeup and jewelry are all perfect, as far as we’re concerned.
But we figure this is a love-it-or-hate-it frock, which means it’s perfect for launching a good, old-fashioned online fight. In other words, we’re putting this up to a vote and you get to make the final call, so let’s hear it:
