For us, one of the fun things about covering an actress on the awards track is watching the way she embraces way more glamour and glitz in her fashion than she ever showed a preference for in the past. We’d like to think it’s because she’s just having fun and enjoying the heightened attention that comes with a career-enhancing, high-buzz role. But we’d be naive if we didn’t acknowledge that it’s equally if not more likely that she’s feeling pressure to dress up in ever more attention-seeking ensembles as part of an open campaign for a nomination or win. Which is why this feels exactly like Miss Amanda and her team figuring out a way to keep her game-ready and on point while still letting her have fun and be a bit more herself:

We absolutely love this for her. The cut of the pants gives it a fun, almost cheeky sort of feel to it. Her makeup is perfect and the lacquered, sort of “Jazz Age sapphic cabaret hostess” vibe of the hairstyle couldn’t be more brilliant. This is one of the most unexpectedly stylish awards-track looks we’ve seen in years.
