Tessa Thompson Promotes “Sylvie’s Love” in Rodarte on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Rodarte is really great for producing highly editorial looks; the kinds of looks that don’t always work for the usual television or red carpet appearances. It usually takes the right kind of setting and the right wearer to really make their over-the-top romance and sometimes-whimsy really work for them. But as we saw with Mindy Kaling, sporting one of the brand’s most twee dresses yet earlier this week, the at-home setting might really work in the wearer’s favor for pulling off styles that might not work out in the wild. Of course it also helps if that wearer’s Tessa Thompson, who is slaying that at-home promotional tour like no one else of late. Take it away, girl:

That looks absolutely spectacular on her. Under the flashes and glare of a red carpet, having traveled in a limo to get there, we just don’t think this ensemble would work nearly as well. She and her team (the also-slaying it lately Wayman + Micah) have really figured out that these at-home press events are largely well-controlled photo shoots and the style choices should reflect that. She looks amazing and the various earrings are drop-dead stunning.
