These looks are a couple of weeks old, but the pickins are slim this time of year and besides, Miss Regina’s sporty-casual game is on fire. Attention must be paid. If we’re being bluntly honest, we haven’t loved some of the dresses she’s worn on Instagram during this promo tour, but she really looks fantastic in these sorts of eye-popping casual or activewear looks.

To be fair, we’d be silly to call a Ferragamo blouse and pair of pants “casual,” but the print and the overall vibe – not to mention her ability to make it all work for her – give it this stylish, but lower-key vibe. Sometimes moving away from a red-carpet formality or grandiosity (like the kind Tessa Thompson routinely crushes) is the better choice. That kind of look can be tough to pull off in your living room or your stylist’s studio.  Besides, she’s in her role as director here and this kind of high business-like drag just feels like the better choice. She looks great.

We’ve said before that these drive-in premiere events have absolutely no rulebook or precedent when it comes to style. Some stars can really make semi-formal drive-in looks pay off for themselves (again, Tessa Thompson, who’s also styled by Wayman + Micah), but it seems to us this kind of fun, super-sporty high-end luxury look is simply great on her. We’re sure she’s thrilled to be at the premiere of her directorial debut, but you can’t tell us, judging by her expression, that she doesn’t LOVE this look.
