It’s a SUPER-slow red carpet day (everyone’s avoiding carbs and hydrating between weekly awards shows at this time of year) and we need a nap after that Star Trek review, so here’s Gwynnie, doing her usual bare minimum:
It’s a basic shape and a great color, which makes it a pretty good choice for a talk show appearance. But man, the current vogue for satin dresses is starting to get a little out of hand. We don’t think rendering this style of dress (a turtleneck with 3/4 sleeves) in shiny silk really does anything for it. And while it’s impressive how unwrinkled she is sitting down, we think for this to have any sort of impact at all, it’s a standing up-and-posing dress. In other words, we think this would be much better on a red carpet, with much more interesting accessorizing and styling.
