2019 American Music Awards: Halsey in Marc Jacobs: IN or OUT?

She’s all over the map with her style – which isn’t all that unusual for a pop star. Nor is it unusual for a pop star to show up at the AMAs in something a little cray. We kind of get what she was going for here; an attempt to meld old school romance with rocker-chick edge, but we’re not convinced it works in this case. You can combine those two styles, but we’re not sure if her head styling really marries all that well with the dress, which is a bit more exuberant than your usual frilly floral fare. We’re not fans of the current trend for retro-ruffly florals, but this one’s actually kind of fun in a big, draggy way. The dress can stay, as far as we’re concerned (yes, that surprises us too), but the jury’s out on the hair and makeup. So, will the jury please rise and face the court?
