Your girl’s been busy this weekend. Busy not wearing pants.
Kristen Stewart in Chanel at the “Seberg” Photocall
Apparently, it was all about the Chanel and shorts. There’s an argument that wearing the quintessential French fashion brand to a French American film festival in patriotic (but not literally so) shades is just about the most appropriate way a gal could go. This has a fun sort of sloppy chic feel to it. It’s the kind of look only she could pull off.

To the extent that a look like this could theoretically be pulled off, then she’s also probably the only living person who could make this combination of items seem stylish somehow. It’s a lie. You’re being fooled by her innate coolness and ability to make any Chanel look inexplicably badass or trashy hot. None of this works. She still looks amazing in it all.

This, however, signals the end of our ride on this train. This is our stop, dear. You’re on your own. We cannot mount an argument that the granny jacket, ’80s shorts, white socks and ripped top are all somehow coming together under your magic spell. No, Kristen. Not even you can make this supremely silly outfit work for us.
