Sometimes we’re a little rough on Miss Emma, which is why we’re featuring this look. It’s not without its issues, but it’s absolutely adorable on her nonetheless. So long as you can get past one glaring style choice, however…

Big no on the knee-hi action, girl.

But the dress and coat are adorable. We’re not huge fans of matching coats and dresses. It strikes us as way too mid-Century First Lady in tone; musty and mumsy. But every once in a while someone breaks out one of these looks and winds up looking kind of awesome in it. We’ve always said she does best with big-personality fashion, not demure or understated pieces. Love the accentuated shoulder on the dress, which gives it a bit of oomph and modernity. We don’t love the bag all that much, though. It fights with the ensemble. Still, the whole look is supposed to be over-styled in that “Fashion Week front row” sort of way. She’s on point, even if it all looks to be a bit much.

In other news, we think the dark hair color really works for her.
