But oof, we’re not sure we can fully sign off on this one, girl. This is going to sound incredibly bitchy and also like we’re trying to stir up shit (neither charge will be addressed by us at this time), but our first thought was … latter Katy Perry. Taylor’s former nemesis has been stuck in a style rut for some time now, the results of which remind us very much of this ensemble. It’s trying to project a certain image – Sexy! Sparkly! Girly! Fishnets! Booties! – a certain “If Barbie were a pop star” sort of vibe, but the details just don’t feel like they come together well. The shorts are way too diapery, the fishnets don’t register and the booties are jarring because the rest of the ensemble is rendered in pink and purple. We get it. We just don’t think it quite gets there.
