Reminders of Him stars Tyriq Withers and Maika Monroe posed in front of some fake grass and half a pickup truck for the premiere, which tells you that this is the story of hardscrabble rural folk and their sad little problems.

Honestly, despite that bitchy opening, we’re not feeling as unkind about all this as we’re sounding. We just naturally revert to that tone.

Anyway, we hate this. The pants are too big, the footwear looks too dressy with them, and the jacket and shirt are both generic and unphotogenic. Congrats on the face, but a little bit more work was required here.

She’s doing the heavy lifting in that wearing a fitted gown, bra and heels is always going to be more work than whatever the guy’s sporting, but this feels so generic as to give the sense that no real thought was put into it. She doesn’t look bad. We’d be crazy to suggest she does. But it’s as generic as a red dress gets. But the fit is superb and we like that the styling is polished, but low-key.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
After a perfect outing with her boyfriend, Kenna (Maika Monroe; The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Longlegs) makes an unbearable mistake that sends her to prison. Seven years later, Kenna returns to her hometown in Wyoming, hoping to rebuild her life and earn the chance to reunite with her young daughter, Diem, whom she has never known.
When Diem’s custodial grandparents adamantly refuse Kenna’s attempts to see her daughter, Kenna discovers unexpected compassion, and then something truer and deeper, with former NFL player and local bar owner Ledger (Tyriq Withers; HIM, I Know What You Did Last Summer). As their secret romance develops, so do the dangers for both of them, leading Kenna toward heartbreak and, ultimately, the hope for a second chance.
