You know us, darlings. If there’s one thing we love to do, it’s read the red carpet tea leaves. The buzz on this film is not so hot and Miss Jennifer is finding herself in the position of promoting a mediocrity in which she’s not the main star. Given the tumble her career’s taken of late, with a string of poorly received films in her recent past, we might conclude that her surprisingly good take on darkly minimalist chic was signaling her true, mostly underwhelming feelings about having to be here at all.
On the other hand, she’s never truly been all that interested in using fashion to send messages and besides, this frock’s contractually obligated. Even so, this may be one of our favorite J Law red carpet looks in years. It’s simple, stark and elegant. The narrow plunge of the neckline and the gorgeous pendant are taking the look far away from being funereal or too dull.
And can we just say how thrilled we are that stylists finally started embracing the pendant again? All those plunging necklines out there were pretty much designed for them.
