Darlings, it’s not quite fashion’s biggest night (that’s probably the Met Gala), but it’s still a big damn deal in the fashion world as all the big names in design hook up with big names from the celebrity world to do a little victory strut, whether they’re picking up awards or not. Everyone’s on good behavior and trying not to look thirsty! Let’s see how they did. And by that we mean let’s judge how they did.

Y’know… it’s pretty much Alexis Carrington cosplay, but she is shockingly well-suited to it. She looks great.

Let them be fashion witches, we say. It’s obviously working for them – although it’s possible their success is due to black magic.

Mm. It’s a little “dress shoppe,” no? Not to mention how little the style really does for her. Girlfriend needs a good talking-to by someone who knows what they’re doing.

Guess she figured Gigi could have the big FASHUN moment of the night. Miss Bella went for good old-fashion Cher-style sex appeal. Which makes sense because Bob Mackie was an honoree of the night.

Also kind of giving us a take on Cher, although this one is much more interpreted. Can’t say we love the high-waisted panties, but the hair looks amazing.

Do they make strapless nightgowns?

Heidi Klum in J. Mendel

It’s short and shiny and just a teeny bit fitted to her without going overboard on it. All the things she loves and all the things that love her back. It’s not setting the fashion world on fire but she looks pretty great.

Laura Harrier in Khaite

She has a real knack for making this kind of over-the-top sweetly retro style work for her. We suppose the sheer shoulders and heavy leather belt were a way of counteracting the overwhelming tweeness, but we don’t think either element does anything for the look.

Seen it.

Listen, we give her a lot of credit for really trying it lately, but most of her attempts come off a little goofy-looking. For one, she needs to lay off the tuxedo-but-with-a-lady-twist thing she’s been doing so much of recently. It’s played out, dear. Second, that eye makeup is no one’s friend.
