We tend to rate fashion front-row appearances differently than we would a premiere or other forms of celebrity self-promotion. Sure, they’re still out there getting their pictures taken in borrowed high-end fashion, but because they’re asked to wear lewks from the brand, they have a bit less leeway. This sounds like we’re trying to prepare you for a bad outfit but actually, it’s a pretty dramatic one that suits her well.
There is, however, a lot going on here, from a leather bodice to a massive leather belt to a giant brand key chain hanging off it to a sheer skirt to a lot of colorful applique. On another wearer, this might come off a bit overwhelming, but Miss Lupita can more than handle all of it. Still, we think the bodice offers too much shine, weight and texture to marry well to that skirt. And dangling D is just awful. There’s a lot of drama to be had here, but the only reason she doesn’t look a bit overwhelmed by it is because she can handle a lot of look at once.
Not really feeling the flower bindi all that much. It comes off way too Coachella and a little culturally insensitive, neither of which strike us as her kind of thing.
