Never fear, Lupita’s here, darlings! In other words, we can all calm down now. She may not have graced the main event’s red carpet with her presence, but that doesn’t mean girlfriend wasn’t going to make a statement on prom night.

This is like that Gemma Chan thing, where the wearer makes the questionable garment look practically undeniable in its fabulosity. She’s a stunner and she’s working like gangbusters to give this dress all the right angles because that’s the kind of pro she is. But at the end of the day, it’s a belted bathmat. The VF party is a perfect place to have a little fun with your glamour and like we said, she’s doing a great job of selling it, but we don’t like the dress on its own merits.
