We were going to frame this post as a way to start off your Friday with something bright and sunny, but upon further review, it has come to our attention that this frock is more in the neon end of the yellow range, making it decidedly less Vitamin-D-infused, but much more on trend.
The skirt is pretty. And we suppose going matchy with the sandals makes sense, because it’s hard to play with color when you go neon and black tends to make it look harsh. We’re not really crazy about the top half, which strikes us as a bit more complicated than it needs to be. As for the color, we don’t mind neon as a trend, since it can be pretty fun and fabulous. And we like the idea of a more or less conventionally pretty dress style rendered in it. It’s not a bad choice for a TV appearance since it obviously keeps the eye on you. There’s just one problem here – and it’s big one. That shade looks terrible on her, both in pictures and video. Neons are tough, and neon yellows are the toughest neons of all. You tried it, J Lo. But in the end, all that yellow bounced right off your skin and made you look sallow.
