There’s a certain specific appeal to the Golden Globes gown done right. Ideally, a nominee is looking to show up trophy-ready and every inch a star, but not too overdone or fussy in the fashion choices (Gaga notwithstanding). Essentially, it’s a dress for sitting at a table all night and drinking, but can be utilized effectively in case a girl needs to get up there and make a speech.
We’d say Miss Regina nailed it:
Not that we’d suggest a gown like this is low-effort. She’s still gotta sit in that thing all night and look perfect doing so. But there’s a simple glamour to it that really suits her perfectly. If you didn’t know it already, her acceptance speech showed what kind of actress she is; warm, low-key, confident and humble at the same time. The gown is perfect for her and she looks amazing in it.
