It’s easily the best thing she’s ever worn at a State of the Union address. As we recall, past years had some clunkers. But this is sleek and powerful; firmly declarative and even business-like in a way that seems, in retrospect, fairly calculated. Miss Lady has learned (right in front of our eyes over the past 6 years) the value of dressing to project an image and send a message (very #BeMeorDoMe, when you think about it- and we have), and this was very much a moment when she and the President felt the need to project strength.

There must be a part of her that cannot wait to get out of this role and back to being the talented businesswoman and lawyer she is.  We both thought this had a very Alicia Florrick/Good Wife vibe to it – and we were right, because it turns out this exact outfit was worn by Julianna Margulies on the show.
