Lacoste Spring 2015 Collection
You pretty much can’t get any sportier than sending football jersey dresses and D-ring belts down a runway, can you? Lacoste is the brand that knows how to make the sporty look chic. And while we’re not entirely sold on some of the jersey-inspired designs, much of the collection’s main theme of yachting was, to mix our sporty metaphors, a home run. The more nautically themed garments were characterized by simple lines accented by geometric details, giving even minimalist looks a feel of breezy movement. We loved the combination of bold and muted colors, and the intense focus on silhouette. Quite a bit of this needs mental editing in order to see how individual pieces might work in someone’s wardrobe, but to our way of thinking, that only speaks to how far Lacoste has come to modernize itself and push the boundaries of sportswear a little.
