Regina King Promotes “One Night in Miami” in Louis Vuitton

We’re not sure what it is about this promotional tour – maybe her role as a first-time director lit a fire under her style somehow – but we don’t think we’ve ever seen Miss Regina on such a consistent and persistent promotional tour style. She’s really found a look for herself and she keeps returning to it in one way or another.

She’s nailed this sort of “eye-popping dress with heavy accessorizing” corner of the style world. She’s in a period where she seems to really like these sorts of off-beat dresses that either have quirky design elements or are rendered in boldly eye-catching prints and colors. There’s nothing un-memorable about the kinds of dresses she’s drawn to lately, although we wouldn’t call any of them overly showy. She’s just big into unexpected elements and juxtapositions right now. Case in point: the boots and belt, neither of which would have been our first recommendation. Even so, we appreciate that she doesn’t try and replicate a look book or a runway shot. She’s putting her stamp on each of these sort of memorably offbeat looks.
