A bunch of stars came out for the BAFTA TV Awards and some of them even managed to wear nice outfits for the occasion! SOME of them. Let’s assess.
Adam Scott

There’s a real crisis happening in celebrity men’s styling. Too many stylists are trying to put guys who are very much not suited to such things into trendy, quirky, or sexy styles. The proportions here are unflattering and the little trendy touches like the white socks and the goofy tie only serve to make him look awkward. Boy, this is not your suit.
Aimee Lou Wood in Valentino

First time we ever saw a monk strap dress. It’s not very flattering.
Alex Hassel in Dunhill

Sharp and interesting. It all works for him, but we dislike the tie and the sash.
Awkwafina in McQueen

Boy, do we ever hate t-shirt bodices in gowns.
Bella Maclean in Miu Miu

What a vaguely nauseating blouse.
Celia Imrie

Gorgeous color and style for her, but that waist seam sure could use a belt.
Chase Sui Wonders in Tory Burch

The design is fine but the print is ugly.
David Harewood

No arguments here.
Erin Doherty in 16Arlington

She’s had a long run of wearing odd silhouettes on red carpets, so it’s almost disappointing to see her in something so conventional. It’s fine, but the bust design looks like an afterthought.
Jessica Gunning in Edeline Lee

Could’ve done without the ruffles, but this is easily the best thing she’s ever worn. Love the color and the belt.
Jodie Whittaker in Rebecca Vallance

The fit’s a little off in the bust, but she looks good.
Laura Haddock in Fforme

We might have suggested a brooch or pendant or cocktail ring just to give it a little bling, but this is a smart look and she clearly didn’t want to get too fussy with the styling.
Matt Smith in Brunello Cucinelli

It’s fine but we hate when men shove their hands into their jacket pockets.
Nafessa Williams in Khaled Marwan

We can’t say we’re loving the embellishment in the bodice, and the whole look is a little too shiny for our tastes, but she looks pretty great.
Owen Cooper in Bottega Veneta

Love this. It’s modern and youthful but still feels red carpet-ready.
Rhea Seehorn in Rodarte

Great dress, terrible straps.
Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen (in Akris)

He looks very chic. She looks very… adventurous. We love that she opted to not come quietly. The skirt’s great, but we wouldn’t have rec’d those shoes with it. Can’t say we like the bodice or the jacket at all.
