Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kicked off a tour of Australia with two events today and we’re already pre-cringing. Look, they’re free to do whatever they want, and we’ve been supportive of these pseudo-royal visits in the past, but whenever they stage these tours of Commonwealth countries, there’s simply no way the British press, Harry’s family, and a big chunk of the British public aren’t going to find it questionable if not downright offensive. Make your Netflix deals and continue to grow Invictus as a worldwide event. That’s where it’s at for these two. These pretend royal visits just set them up for blowback and make them look like royal dilettantes; not willing to stay in the Firm, but still wanting to walk through children’s hospitals in front of cameras. It should be noted that they were invited by a private group(i.e., not the government) and that some of the events they will be attending will be ticketed. These facts tend to cast a dingy pall over the proceedings and for the life of us, we can’t understand why they insist on setting themselves up for easily avoided criticism. Skip the Commonwealth tours and focus your charity initiatives in the country you live in.

Having said all that, this is a pretty great look for her; sharp, chic, and well-styled, for the most part. She doesn’t always manage to pull a look together as well as this one. Of course we’d rather see her in a color, given her longstanding love of neutrals, but we’re not opposed to a chic black look if it’s done well and takes a good picture.
IN ST. AGNI AND P JOHNSON
That’s an almost-Cathy level of coordination between these two, which is rare to see, and we’re starting to realize why Cathy does it so religiously. They look good together. The fact that they’re so well coordinated actually elevates each of their looks. He’d come off pretty drab without her outfit next to him, complementing and matching it. We have no notes. Her outfit definitely looks better with the jacket on, but that’s not an issue or criticism.
