The stars came out for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards, which is some sort of thing, but despite the word “fashion” being prominently featured during the proceedings, most of them showed up in seriously wacky looks. Come with us on a journey of discovery.

All things considered, it’s not bad, although we think the design is trying to do too much, what with the checkerboard effect, the ombre effect and the fringe. We’d chop off the latter.

Acceptable, but a bit too businesslike.

We hate the cutout, partially because of where it’s placed but mostly because they turned it into a flower and that’s just silly.
Camila Mendes in Johanna Ortiz
Generic.
Chase Stokes
The jacket is interesting and the grooming is impressive, but we don’t think a plain white dress shirt was the way to go here.
Chrissy Teigen in Balenciaga
Lady, you look like a duck.
D’Arcy Carden
The pants are okay, but that jacket is awful.
Dove Cameron in Ferrari
Dove, we don’t mean to alarm you but your stylist clearly hates you and is trying to destroy you.
Fergie in Genny
It’s not bad in theory, but none of the whites match and the hat is giving Kid Rock.
François Arnaud
We think the textile is leather, but we can’t tell from this shot. The color looks great, but the fit is way too roomy.
Garcelle Beauvais
Old pantyhose. And that’s way too many tiers.
Jay Ellis in Ferrari
We don’t love the flipped lapels and the ombre looks pretty tacky to us.
Julia Fox in Ashley Williams
Honestly, this is disappointingly low effort. She usually puts more thought and more work in to her wackery, but this is just a Halloween costume.

Fashion designers have truly lost their way.

WHAT on earth?!? We’re not offended by boobs, but the proportions here are comically awful and the effect isn’t very flattering.

Evidently Melissa didn’t get the memo, because this is one of the best dresses she’s ever worn.

The design is simple but the color looks great on her.
Olivia Wilde in Ashlyn
Just taking her top off on the red carpet, as one does.
Pamela Anderson
The print is muddy and the colors are dreary. Her hair looks terrible and she’s sliding out of those sandals. Did they all arrive on a party bus together or something? Because man, there are a ton of shitty looks here.
Rei Ami in Altuzarra
It’s an interesting design and we like the colors, but that print is messy and distracting.
Yara Shahidi in Mugler
That top looks like it was made out of a car seat.
