One Battle After Another star Teyana Taylor came to the Vanity Fair Oscar party in the exact kind of dress we were hoping she’d wear to the main ceremony.

It’s sleek, sexy, uncomplicated, pharmaceutical grade screen siren realness. After a particularly intense awards season on the red carpet for her, and the likelihood that she wasn’t going to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, we were hoping to see her hit the main event looking like as classic a Hollywood sex symbol as you’re ever gonna see. It’s a time for wiping the slate clean and signaling to the industry that you’re up for you’re next gig and you’re not tied to any one style, genre or role. We didn’t hate the dress she ultimately chose to wear, but this sort of Jean Harlow-esque style is exactly what we wanted to see on this night. She looks amazing. Love the chain straps with the little star embellishments. So Hollywood.
