The ladystars came out to serve looks at the Chanel Couture show in Paris and the house gave them some fairly decent pieces to wear, for once. Let’s be judgy about it, for a change.
Claire Foy
Why aren’t there more moto skirt suits? This looks fantastic despite the color being kind of awful and her looking a little overwhelmed by it. Can’t say we’re loving the trim on the skirt either, but the basic shape is great.
Dua Lipa
It’s a bold and eye-catching print, but it’s also a harsh and garish one. We don’t hate it, but we think there’s too much of it in this one look and it doesn’t coordinate well with the shoes at all. The irregular hems are giving us eyelid rage twitches.
Margaret Qualley
Can’t really argue with that. She looks great in dark colors. We don’t love the shape of the straps/cap sleeves, however.
Nicole Kidman
Everything above the waist is kind of great, but everything below it is very dumb. That skirt looks sad. We have to admit, as goofy as the shoes are, there’s a minor appeal there. We just don’t think they go with the outfit at all.
Penélope Cruz
It’s very elegant and mildly chic until we get to the knees. Hate that hem and hate those shoes.
Tilda Swinton
Sometimes she manages to bring more of a punk sensibility to Chanel than Kristen Stewart does — and all she has to do it put it on. We love the low-slung skirt but we think the belt should be brown. The top is interesting and manages to give the old Chanel tweed suit a bit of a modern twist, but it looks hellaciously annoying to wear and we don’t like the color.
