We salute Sigourney Weaver and Oona Chaplin for their tireless efforts promoting Avatar: Fire and Ash in Mexico City while their castmates apparently take a little coffee break. We’re still going to be a little mean about their outfits, though.
On the one hand, we want to note that her choice to wear black all throughout this tour hasn’t served her well because the film’s branding is so black-heavy. On the other hand, the fact that we can’t quite make out the details of her outfit is probably a good thing in this instance. She has a tendency to go for things like broad shoulders, high necklines or peplums and none of those things are actually all that great for her. She’s better with relatively sleek and unfussy styles and she should consider jewel tones, which would sing with her coloring and tend to be universally flattering for mature people.
Congratulations on becoming a child of God, Oona. Or perhaps you haven’t been recently baptized? Perhaps you have been challenged to become a dark queen and instead have chosen to diminish and go into the west? Or maybe you’re on your way to the Christmas pageant, where your only line will be “Hark!” Whatever the case, you wear a dress like this and the allusions are almost unavoidable.
