The stars of Ella McCay dressed weirdly for the LA premiere. No sense in being coy about it. Let’s assess.
Emma Mackey

We get that plain style is kind of her thing, but this is generic. The only thing that saves it is the cocktail ring. Then again, maybe it was smart to go plain, considering how her co-stars showed up.
Jamie Lee Curtis

There’s something about putting a sensible cardigan on over a tight leather dress that feels quintessentially Jamie Lee. It’s wrong, but it’s so her. The dress is kind of great (although clearly too tight on her) and we’re glad someone finally told her to stop putting both hands on her hips for pictures. Love the bracelets.
Ayo Edebiri in Chanel

Your new Chanel ambassador. Not that we think she’s unworthy for the role. If anything, what the house is currently putting out is unworthy of her. This is a horrible look. Presumably, that vest is supposed to be tied up in two bows rather than one. And while we can’t say adding another bow to this look would improve it, leaving those sashes undone – over an undershirt and a pair of jeans – feels like some sort of rebellion on her part.
Rebecca Hall in Celine

What are we even looking at here? Whatever it is, it’s awkward as hell.
