It’s the Newport Beach Film Festival! Where everyone tried their best! Let’s assess!
Chase Infiniti in Zimmermann

This is cute and fun and suits her perfectly. Sure, we’d have liked it better in a color, but the buttons do a lot to make it pop.
Erin Kellyman in Louis Vuitton

Oof. No, honey. This is the sales rack at Talbot’s in 1994.
Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas

Don’t love the non-color, but this is chic as hell.
Kerry Condon in Valentino

A nun with unusually great hair.
Miles Caton in KITH

Love it. He’s young and this is a great way to straddle the line between conventionally dressy and streetwear. Personally, we don’t mind the shirt hanging out, but the tie looks goofy.
Milly Alcock in Auralee

We get this idea of pairing a moto with dress pants, but they’re so voluminous on her that it takes the look away from the clearly kickass vibe she’s trying to create. A slimmer cut of pants and less ladylike shoes, please.
Scarlett Johansson in Prada

We’re still not loving those high vamp shoes, but this is a surprisingly cute and simple look from her.
Tessa Thompson in Simone Rocha

Look, everyone’s free to do what they want, but we feel pretty secure in saying that a lot of these ladystars are going to look back at the year they all got talked into walking out on red carpets without an outfit over their undergarments and wonder what the hell they were thinking. Tessa, you’re gorgeous, but you look like a crazy person here.
Tonatiuh in Thom Browne

Hmm. There are great pieces here, but we don’t like the way he’s styled and we don’t think that drab gray is doing a thing for him.
