It’s all rundowns and couples in the red carpet content pipeline for today, so we thought we’d separate Anne Hathaway out from the pack of WWD Honors attendees so we’ll all have a better shot at her we can all debate the quality of her archival Valentino gown. The star of the upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2 took time off from filming to be a little dazzling at the fashion event, but the gown she chose has a few elements we tend to hate, so we’re throwing the final call out to y’all.

Tiers, trailing sashes and bows — three things we hate to see on a grownup’s dress. In fact, there’s so much frippery and foofaraw here that it can be kind of hard to get a handle on the design. The color looks gorgeous on her, but between all the sashes, bows, and those weird wings hanging off the bodice, it all just looks like too much to us. Kind of puzzled by the Bumpit hair and the Vulcan brows too, to be honest. It just doesn’t strike us as one of her better red carpet efforts, but perhaps you feel wrongly differently?
