Grace Van Patten has been out on the harsh streets promoting The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, which we honestly thought was a true crime documentary until about ten minutes ago. Granted, we could have paid closer attention, but unforch, her style choices didn’t give us any reason to. Let’s assess.

That’s just sad. It’s possible she thought she was supposed to keep things a bit toned down because of the subject matter, but actresses have stepped out on red carpets wearing haute couture and diamonds after playing some of history’s greatest monsters, so if she had any concern, it was misplaced. Besides, the real Amanda was at this premiere and she didn’t show up in sack cloth, so we’re not sure why her portrayer felt the need.

Welp. She’s two for two on the sad frock front. Despite our comments above, we don’t really think she’s trying to tone down her style. She just likes things relatively low-key and depressing, it would seem. The style is fine, but kind of insipid; the color is awful and the shininess makes it worse. Nice shoes, though.
