Sarah Paulson wore a goofy/interesting dress! That’s not exactly news given her style preferences and red carpet history, but we’re a little excited by this one because we loved it at first sight but we also thought a lot of you won’t, which is why we’re putting it up to a vote.
We’re normally pretty cool on the idea of deconstruction in fashion, if only because everything’s been done at this point and there’s no way to do it that feels fresh or like it’s saying new things. But the textile and the construction are genuinely interesting. The frayed edges give it the feel of handmade paper. We love the neckline and the deeply weird sleeves. Our only quibbles are with the hem, which looks awkward, and the shoes, which strike us as too conventional. But the rest of it looks great and she’s extremely well suited to it. We suppose we should have given less a rave, but we promise that the final call is up to y’all. Let’s hear it.
