You would think the fact of Keke Palmer at the BET Awards in a thirty-year-old Chanel Couture look would be reason to celebrate. Unfortunately, this is the thirty-year-old look she chose:
It occurs to us that we might have oversold things in that opening, because 2/3 of this dress works really well. In fact, everything except the bust is super-cute on her — yes, even the train on the mini, which is normally a thing we hate. But this style of halter and bust looks pretty awful when it’s rendered in a sheer that doesn’t quite match the bodice. It just contributes to that whole “two bags of boob” impression. Even worse is that “exploding nipples” sequin pattern. The bob is cute. It feels like all the ladies in the entertainment industry got tired of getting pedicures because we keep seeing pumps with outfits that would look so much better with sandals.
