We did a whole bunch of spotlight posts yesterday, but it’s time for us to round up the remaining 2025 Tony Awards attendees and tell them what we think of their efforts. Let’s get judgy!
Adam Lambert
We tend to think that matching your outfit to your shoes, your mani, your hair AND your eyeshadow is a bit much, but this actually works for him. Should’ve buttoned the jacket, though.
Amber Iman in Frederick Anderson
Love the dress, hate the bootie.
Ariana DeBose in Nili Lotan
Nightgown. Great hair, though.
Bob Odenkirk
Love the tux and the shirt, but why on earth would you wear those shitty shoes with such a fabulous outfit?
Carrie Preston in Flora on Madison
The color looks great on her. The style is a little too grande dame. We’d suggest getting rid of the arm puffs.
Donald Webber Jr. in Grégoire by Paris
Suits like this can come off so gimmicky, but we love the color and the brooches. That weird strap can go.
Dylan Mulvaney in Christian Siriano
The best she ever looked. Her hair looks amazing.
Helen J. Shen in Pamella Roland
We’ve been decrying the minty greens that have proliferated of late, but this one has a nice, jade-like subtlety to it that really works. Can’t say we love those strap things, but the draping is beautiful.
Jasmine Amy Rogers in Esé Azénabor
All of the colors look amazing on her, but we don’t think the skirt design marries well with the satin.
Jonathan Groff in Thom Browne
It’s a pretty great look, but the studied sloppiness bugs.
Joy Woods in Elie Saab
She looks gorgeous, but the dress design could’ve used a little editing. There’s just too much going on.
Kara Young in Thom Browne
Fantastic. Thom Browne’s aesthetic can be very limiting, but we love how well this marries formal ballgown tropes with menswear tropes.
Kristin Chenoweth in Christian Siriano
Yuck. Nice color, but that’s an ugly design.
Laufey in Valentino
We just knew we were going to see one of those bags on the red carpet soon. The top half of the outfit is cute. Everything from the waist down is a hate crime.
Laura Donnelly in Honor NYC
The dress is dramatic but the hair looks terrible.
Lea Michele in Michael Kors Collection
Keeping it very, very simple. She looks great. Could’ve used some jewelry.
Leslie Odom Jr. in Fear of God
We love the look, but the puddling pants look terrible. We get that the oversized slouchiness is the point, but a simple break over the shoe would be perfect.
Michelle Williams in Bibhu Mohapatra
The skirt is pretty, but the bodice is overembellished.
Natasha Hodgson in Esé Azénabor
We love sparkle as much as any two sissies, but that skirt looks like the stage backdrop to a drag show.
Phillipa Soo in Genny
Weird, unflattering design that does nothing for her.
Sadie Sink in Prada
The strap situation seems more complicated than it needs to be, but the overall look is very pretty on her.
Sarah Paulson in Schiaparelli Couture
It’s strange and formal in that way she likes so much. The styling is perfect for it (although we still hate those pointy vamps). The only part of the design we don’t like is the bow sash.
Tom Francis in Todd Snyder
We’ve come around on a lot of brown fashion this past year, but this is an example of why we tend not to like it. This color doesn’t do a thing for him. Pairing it with a yellow dress shirt and black shoes is a terrible idea.
More to come in Part TWO!
