Audra McDonald in Dolce & Gabbana at the 2025 Drama Desk Awards

Gypsy star Audra McDonald showed up to the Drama Desk Awards looking unfussed and unbothered.

And then she went and scooped up the trophy for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical. We doubt very much that the recent kerfuffle involving Patti LuPone was even on her mind, but this all makes a nice way of showing that it doesn’t matter at all. It’s a great jacket, but we tend to think it looks much better with the slimmer pants in the look book. What we like is how the styling straddles that line between red carpet glamour and low-key professionalism. She could have done a diva turn here but instead she made it about the art.
