Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender joined their stylish co-stars for the London premiere of Black Bag. It may not surprise you to learn that looks of varying quality were served.
Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton
Unfortunately, we must also inform you that Good Lady Cate wore the worst outfit of the lot. We appreciate the weirdness of the choice, but ultimately, that’s all it is: weird. It’s not flattering or chic or fabulous to our eyes. It just looks awkward and strange, distorting her shape and confusing the eye.
Marisa Abela in Emilia Wickstead
We’d never recommend wearing such a dark, businesslike outfit on the red carpet, but the severity of it works well for her. It’s chic, if not particularly photogenic.
Michael Fassbender
We know we should be at least a little annoyed by his constant wearing of sunglasses on red carpet, but he looks so good in them that we kind of can’t blame him for it. That jacket’s pretty sweet, but this whole look fails to photograph well.
Naomie Harris in Danny Reinke
We’re surprised to find ourselves liking this, although maybe we’re just relieved to see someone in something relatively unweird and photogenic. Having said that, the bodice is overworked to the point of exhaustion and we don’t think the two textiles work all that well together. If the skirt were an off-white or beige, we think it would pull together nicely.
Regé-Jean Page in Giuliva Heritage
Gorgeous coat, boring outfit.
