To mark Paris Fashion Week, the Louvre held its inaugural (of many to come, we presume) Grand Dîner du Louvre and invited a whole bunch of stars, designers and socialites to put on their biggest fashion and swan about it. Basically, the Louvre wanted a little bit of that Met Gala action and we’re fine with that. Let’s assess the grandiosity.
Danai Gurira in Iris van Herpen Couture
It’s not among our favorite Van Herpen designs. We don’t love the shape of the skirt and the smooshed boobs kind of ruin the whole thing.
Doechii in Valentino Couture
Jaw dropping. And she damn sure knows it.
Gemma Chan in Jason Wu
Looks like an old prom dress she picked up off the floor in a vintage shop. Nothing about that sentence is meant to serve as a compliment.
Gigi Hadid in Moschino
It’s an eye-catching design, but these textiles look kind of terrible and 2/3 of them are plain ugly.
Keira Knightley in Chanel Couture
The bodice is pretty, the peplum is awkwardly disproportioned, and the skirt looks flimsy.
Michelle Yeoh in Balenciaga
Love the whole look, but we’re about to write two things that we never thought we’d have to about Michelle Yeoh: It needs more jewelry and she needs to get her eyebrows back.
Naomi Campbell in Chanel
It’s her night off.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu in Balenciaga
She’s in her French glory. She looks spectacular.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Balenciaga
Sleek and sexy, but again, it could use some jewelry. Maybe we’re just used to awards season sparkle or maybe they were all tasked with making it about the fashion.
Zoey Deutch in Giambattista Valli Couture
Newp. That’s just silly.
