If we were surprised by how star-studded and stylish the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert was, then the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special left us downright shocked. It’s a testament to the show’s popularity and status as an institution that so many stars wanted to show up and recognize. Now let’s get to work, because we have a ton of ground to cover.
Aidy Bryant

It’s just too twee and juvenile for us to love it.
Anya Taylor-Joy in Mugler

It’s kind of striking, but she seems to be on a kick lately where she dresses like someone a half century older.
Awkwafina

This is really cute. This sort of hi-lo is perfect for her.
Aziz Ansari

Sure.
Cher

The outfit’s fine, but you’ve gotta give Dolly her wig back, Cher.
Chris Pine

He certainly does clean up nicely. We love a big lapel, but those may be a bit too much for our tastes.
Claire Danes

It’s fine. Feels a little stale and the color comes off harsh.
Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson (in Prada)

He looks fine. She insists on that tight hairstyle a lot and it really doesn’t suit her. The strap situation is terrible.
Dan Levy

It’s funny how the shades render him a little generic.
Ellen Cleghorne

It’s pretty. We don’t love the color, but the shape and style look great on her.
Emma Stone (in Louis Vuitton) and Dave McCary

Honestly, one of the wittiest takes on a red carpet look we’ve ever seen. Brava. And it’s a pretty great look, to boot.
Jack Harlow

Looks good.
Jenna Ortega in Monse

A beautiful shade of brown with a lovely drape to it. The style is pretty low-key but she looks amazing. It’s nice to see her get away from the goth stuff.
Keke Palmer in Tom Ford

Can’t argue with that.
Laraine Newman

We don’t normally love cuffs like that, but the look is sleek and they make a nice bit of exuberance.
Lucy Liu

It’s a pretty cute look but it feels more appropriate for spring or summer.
Miley Cyrus

Say what you will about her, she can do this sort of effortless elegance in her sleep these days.
Pedro Pascal

It’s a killer look and he knows it.
Quinta Brunson in Balmain

We go back and forth on whether the print is flattering, but it’s definitely eye-catching.
Tina Fey

A suprisingly hard-edged look for her. We hate the sheer bodice, but the overall style is a good one for her.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Mom and Dad are happy to be out for the night.
Whoopi Goldberg

Great coat, nice scarf. That’s all you should expect from Whoopi.
More to come in Part TWO!
