We will have much to say about Anora in tomorrow’s (?) podcast, along with a couple of other likely Oscar contenders, but for now, we just want to do that thing we’re just so very good at doing: giving advice that nobody asked for. It’s merely this:

You don’t have to do this, girl. You’re getting career-making raves for playing that most classic of Oscar-bait parts for actresses, the sex worker with dreams. We realize that theme-dressing is all the rage, but you don’t have to dress like this to promote the film or yourself. To be fair, she may actually love getting her hottie on and prefers to dress like this. We’re certainly not suggesting that there’s some sort of impropriety going on here and we don’t think showing a lot of skin during your awards campaign is a thing that tends to hurt your chances. We’re just saying, if she’s dressing like this because she feels she needs to, we’re here to tell her that she doesn’t have to. After all, Pamela Anderson is out there promoting her showgirl role dressed like a nun. We also think she shouldn’t dress this way because this outfit looks stupid. Beautiful skirt, but the whole point of the look is to give the impression that the wearer ran out without her top on and that’s just silly. You can’t put a couple floppy bows on a bra and act like that makes it not a bra.
