The stars came out to serve up glamour at the third annual (and awkwardly titled) Femme It Forward Give Her FlowHERS Awards gala, which “celebrates and recognizes outstanding women who have made a significant impact in entertainment and mentoship.” That sounds wonderful, but we’re going to be shallow and focus on the dresses.
Andra Day
This is super-cute. We’ll probably never love that sort of squared off neckline, but the rest of it looks great. We wouldn’t normally love opera gloves with a low-cut minidress, but the black tights balance it out.
Doechii
This looks like she put a ballgown skirt over a tennis outfit. The bodice just doesn’t go with the skirt and it’s seeming designed to look like the waistband of her boyshorts is showing.
GloRilla
Girl, you had us until we got to that … we’re sorry, we have no other way to describe it … fuzzy slit. The fit is great in the bodice, which is why it’s such a shame that the bottom half looks flimsy and cheap.
Halle Bailey and Chloe Bailey
Ladies, your dresses appear to be disintegrating. Halle’s gown is beautifully draped, but that hip cutout looks weird. Chloe’s skirt is interesting, but it doesn’t really marry well to that structured, almost businesslike (except for the plunge) top.
Saweetie
Gorgeous. A total Disney princess fantasy gown, except she looks hot as hell. We’re not offended by the cross pendant, but we’d have suggested editing it out. It doesn’t work well with the bustline.
