Part one is HERE! Get into this!
Camila Cabello in Tony Ward Couture
We’ll give her credit for skipping the trend and going with a lining. We just wish the lining wasn’t a match to her skin.
DJ Khaled in Bottega Veneta
The weaving lends a richness to it that really elevates it. We’d like it if it was tailored a little better, but it’s clearly to his preferences.
Flo Milli in PatBo
It’s a cute take on a see-through dress, but her undies should’ve been white or gold.
French Montana in Alexander McQueen
Can’t argue with that.
GloRilla
The bandeau is horrible but we loved the trompe l’oeil effect and we adored the Left-Eye Lopes homage.
Jordan Chiles in Off-White
Awful. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Lil Nas X
We’re not sure why, but this bored us. There was a time when Lil Nas X showing up on a red carpet in a Pink Power Ranger homage would seem delightful, but it just felt a little stale to us. There were better takes on fantasy cosplay that night.
Lola Brooke
SO many of these stringy, falling-apart frocks this year. This looks like pretty lint.
Suki Waterhouse in Dolce & Gabbana
Terrible proportions. Gorilla arms.
Tate McRae in Roberto Cavalli
It’s a straight-up Britney Spears homage and we won’t claim she looks anything but scorching hot in it.
Tinashe in Rick Owens
We think Ric Owens rarely works in a red carpet setting, but the VMAs would be the one occasion where we’d recommend trying it. The skirt is gorgeous, but we just can’t sign off on that top.
Tyla in Area
Among all of the string dresses and falling-off dresses, this was our favorite, mostly because it has such a sense of fun to it. Love the necklace and sandals, but we’d have rec’d a matching pair of panties.
